It’s funny, as I was preparing for my trip to California, I found a smile spreading over my lips as I explained that I would be traveling there for business. That is the truth… but my work is my pleasure. I cannot thank the women (and man) that took my classes enough. As well as the owner(s) and staff at both Plum Goods and Porch. It is humbling, to be the guide through the some-what torturous process of learning to make a sea glass mobile in the presence of such wonderful people. The good folks who attend my classes always teach, and share, and give me a renewed sense of community and empowerment. Thank you, thank you. I look forward to coming back again, and to meeting new and equally extraordinary people.

It was, truly, an amazing trip. I saw a pod of at least three humpback whales, complete with a juvenile, joyously breaching the surface. I witnessed this, at my favorite beach while sitting, and chatting for the first time in months, with two very dear friends. It was an exquisite moment, such a rare thing to witness from shore. I will be back, Santa Barbara, hopefully very soon.

Spring is here. The little hints of bloom and green are now exploding… all I want to do is spend my time outside. Alas, I must work. I’m now offering some more affordable sea glass and sterling silver rings. There are two styles; one the uses sea glass from a bottle neck that gently hugs the finger. The other is a little sea glass mosaic in a sterling bezel. Both ring are only $35, plus shipping is free!

I have booked a trip to Santa Barbara and will be teaching some classes on how to make a sea glass mobile. Here is the schedule;

I don’t make these nearly as often as I should. There are beautiful and incredibly pleasing to the eye, but they are very time consuming. The supplies are basic; sea glass, fishing line, a starfish and some thin rope… oh, and don’t forget patience. That is, after all, the most important ingredient.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted. I’ve been busy moving… from California to Massachusetts. While I do miss the mild, sunny climate in CA, it’s great to back on the East Coast. The beaches here are just as lovely and we are looking forward to many hours combing the shores here for sea glass, driftwood and interesting stones. The dog and little lady are settling in just fine and my work is just as fulfilling as always.
